Abstract

English is one of important subject taught to students beside primary subjects at school. Speaking english also important, but nowadayas many students afraid to speak in english because the teacher taught them by conventional method, and studnets don’t want to take the chance from the teacher to speak in english in front of the class. The objective of the research are ( 1 ) To find out the students’ speaking ability before using simulation method and flashcard as a media. ( 2 ) To find out the students’ speaking ability after using simulation method and flashcard as a media. ( 3 ) To describe the significant difference between stundents’ speaking ability before and after using simulation method and flashcard as a media for tenth grade at SMKN 1 Nganjuk in the academic year of 2021/2022. This research is Quasi-Eperimental with one group as a control class, and one group as a experiment class.this research was done in SMKN 1 Nganjuk in the academic year of 2021/2022. By using the population the whole class 526 students, the sample used by the researcher are X TKRO 1 that consist of 30 students, and X TKRO 2 that consist 30 students. The collecting data in this research by using pre-test and post-test. The technique to analise the data of the research is using ANCOVA using SPSS 18. Based on the result of the test score, the average of pre test of experimental class was 65,46 and control class was 66,03. In the post-test the average of experimental class was 77,03 and for control class was 71,20. For calculation of ANCOVA through SPSS 18 program for significant value of class was ,000 which is lowe than ,005. Which mean H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. So “ there is significat difference between students’ speaking ability before and using simulation methode by flashcard in tenth grade at SMKN 1 Nganjuk in the academic year of 2021/2022”.
