Abstract

The purpose of researche is to show that the students speaking skill toward action learning by using poetry and song. It is difficult for Indonesian students to pronounce English word correctly. This method in learning process is the classroom action research. Classroom Action research is the research that has main goals to solve the problems faced by the studets. Classroom Action research is the research that has main goals to solve the problems faced by the studets. The object of this research was 35 students of eleventh graders of the SMK Negeri 2 Nganjuk. This research was done in pre-test and post-test. The purposes of pre-test and post-test are to know the students speaking skill before and after using poetry and song. Based on the result of the test. Students show the score average pre-test 65 and post-test 83. The result in pre-test showed that the average percentage of active students 45,57% and in the post-test is 88,57%. The average of pre-test and post-test show that there is an increase from pre-test and post-test. The average of post-test is higher than pre-test and post-test show that there is an increase from pre-test and post-test. It is clear that based on the result, it can be said poetry and song good strategy. the students are easier and understand in following the class. So they enjoy doing the task and also, makes them excited in studying the material. Referring to the analysis of the students score above, it can be said the poetry and song strategy is one of strategy can be increased towards the students speaking skill especially in English speaking.
