Abstract

The aims of this research are (1). To know the achievement of student’s in their vocabulary mastery skills before using extensive reading as a technique in teaching and learning process at eight grade MTs Al Huda Kepuhbener in academic year of 2020/2021. To know the achievement of student’s in their vocabulary mastery skills after using extensive reading as a technique in teaching and learning process at eight grade MTs Al Huda Kepuhbener in academic year of 2020/202. To know the significant effectiveness before and after being taught by using extensive reading technique to advance of student’s vocabulary mastery skill in teaching and learning process at eight grade MTs Al Huda Kepuhbener in academic year of 2020/2021. This research is a Quasi-Experimental type using one group pre-test post-test. This research was carried out at MTs Kepuhbener in the 2020/2021 academic year, using a sample of eight grade students with a total of 31 students. The sampling technique used is the Random Sampling Method. Data collection techniques in this study using tests. The data analysis technique used to analyze the data in this study is statistical analysis of t-test data. Based on the results of the students' test scores, the average pre-test score was 71.51 in the good category and the post-test was 81.04 in the very good category. Based on the results of the analysis with a level of 5%, the ttable value = 1.697 and the tcount value 7.006. So tcount > ttable. it can be concluded that Ha is accepted H0 is not accepted. Thus, "The application of Extensive Reading can advance the vocabulary mastery of the eighth-grade students of MTs Al Huda Kepuhbener for the 2020/2021 academic year".
