Abstract

The purpose of this research is 1) to find out how the students' vocabulary improved before the application of the English children's short story, 2) to find out how the students' vocabulary improved after the application of the English children's short story media, 3) to find out by the medium of short stories, English children can improve students' vocabulary skills. The data collection technique used multiple choice questions as many as 20 questions. The data analysis technique in this research is statistical data analysis t-test. Based on the results of the test scores, students showed an average pre-test score of 61.13 and post-test 82.22, for the t-count 2,438, while the t-table was 1,690, then t-count>t-table, which means Ho is rejected and Ha be accepted. So "there is a significant difference between using short stories for English-speaking children and not using short stories for English-speaking children in students of SMA Negeri 3 Nganjuk grade 11 MIPA 4 in 2020/2021".
