Abstract
The objective of this research to measure the effectiveness of students who taught writing diary by using Facebook with students who taught writing diary which is the kind of recount by using conventional at the tenth-grade students of SMK Tamansiswa Mojokerto. This research used quantitative method and quasi- experimental design by taking two classes, experimental class and control class which consisted 30 students in each class. The experimental class was taught writing diary by using Facebook while Control class was taught writing diary by conventional. The data analysis which used to count the score in this research was t-test formula. The result of calculating showed that the average of experimental class was 80,93 and control class was 73,93. The result showed that t value was 5,833 and t table was 1,6715 with significance level 0,05. Based on analysis, the t value > t table (5,833 > 1,6715). It means that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. So, it can be concluded that writing journal diary by using Facebook is effective.
