Abstract

The purpose of the research is to know how is the difference between studens’ speaking achievement with mind mapping and without mind mapping technique in class XI. This research design is experimental research design. The research was done in MA Salafiyah Syafi’iyah Mojokerto in academic year 2020/2021. The population in this research is all of the eleventh-grade students at MA Salafiyah Syafi’iyah Mojokerto. The number of those students are 54 students. And The sample in this research are 18 students from XI-MIPA1 as experimental class and 18 students from XI-MIPA2 as control class. The collection data by using speaking ability test and observation by using rubric speaking. The technique analisys data in this research using statistical analisys t-test. Based on the result, The average score of the students who were taught speaking by using mind mapping technique in experimental class is 79,78. The average score of the students who were taught speaking without using mind mapping technique in control class is 66,67. The t-test level significant 0,05 shows that tvalue 6,07 and ttable is 1,691 so tvalue ˃ ttable . It sign that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. It means that the eleventh-grade students at MA Salafiyah Syafi’iyah were taught by using mind mapping technique gain better score than the eleventh-grade students at MA Salafiyah Syafi’iyah Mojokerto in academic year 2020/2021 were taught without using mind mapping technique.
