Abstract
Students have some problems with reading comprehension in recount text. First, students have deficiencies in vocabulary; as a result, the students only read the text without knowing the meaning of individual words they read. Second, The students only read the text but they cannot understand about generic structures of the recount, so students feel bored and low to studying the reading learning process. Third, the other point of view is that the students do not know how to apply certain techniques of reading in finding the information or content of a text accurately. The purpose of research is (1)To find out before using Sketch To Stretch Strategy Improve students’ Reading Comprehension in Recount Text. (2)To analyze after using Sketch To Stretch Strategy to Improve students’ Reading Comprehension in Recount Text.(3)To describe the significant differences in the student’s Reading Comprehension in Recount Text before and after using Sketch To Stretch Strategy. The methodology of research is pre experimental design. The research was done in SMKN 2 Nganjuk in The Academy Year of 2021 / 2022 by using the population whole class X with the total 474 students, while the samples is used by the researchers in the class X – Tata Busana 1 by number of class is 33 students. In completing the research, the researcher used pre experimental took one class pre-test and post-test as the instruments of collecting data. The technique of analysis data used to analyze the data in this research is statistical analysis data t-test. Based on the results of the test student show the score – average pre-test 62,24 and post-test 80,90 for the experimental class the category is good. Based on the results of analysis level significance in t 0,050 to df 32 was 1,694 and the value of t-test is 15,76. It can be concluded as follow: t-test > t-table so, that Ha has been accepted and Ho has been rejected. So that “there is any Effectiveness of Sketch to Stretch Strategy to Improve Reading Comprehension in Recount Text at Tenth Grade Tata Busana 1 of SMKN 2 Nganjuk in The Academy Year of 2021 / 2022”. There is any difference between student’s reading comprehension skill before and after being taught by using Sketch to Stretch Strategy to Improve Reading Comprehension in Recount Text at Tenth Grade Tata Busana 1 of SMKN 2 Nganjuk in The Academy Year of 2021 / 2022 method is effective to teaching student’s reading comprehension in recount text in the tenth grade of SMKN 2 Nganjuk in the Academic Year of 2021/2022.
