Abstract

The research is about the effectiveness of the students’ listening skill by using dictation technique at tenth grade accounting 3 in the academic year of 2018 / 2019. The objective of this research is (1) to find out students’ listening skill before taught by using dictation technique, (2) to find out the students’ listening skill after taught by using dictation technique, (3) to find out the significant different between the student’s listening skill before and after using of dictation technique. The methodology of the research was experimental research (one group pre-test post-test group design). The research was done in SMK PGRI 2 Nganjuk in the academic year of 2018 / 2019. With the total population of tenth grade students are 186 students and the sample at tenth grade accounting 3 with the total 31 students. The technique of collecting data used essay test and the technique of data analysis in this research is statistical analysis data t-test. Based on the results of the test before taught by using dictation technique students has mean 84, 96 and the result of the test after taught by using dictation technique the students has mean 94, 54. It can be written that the result of the statistical computation value of t-test which was higher than t-table (t0 = 3, 4375 and ttable 5% = 2, 04227). As the result that Ha has been accepted and Ho has been rejected. That is: “There any significant different between the student’s listening skill before and after using of dictation technique at tenth grade of SMK PGRI 2 Nganjuk in the academic year 2018 / 2019. Based on the result of this research, it could be concluded that the using of dictation technique is effective toward students’ listening skill”.
