Abstract

The purpose of research is (1) To find, how is the students’ grammar before use Small Group Discussion (SGD)at the second grade of MA Darussalam Krempyang Tanjunganom in the academic year of 2018/2019, (2) To find, how is the students’ grammar after using Small Group Discussion (SGD) at the second grade of MA Darussalam Krempyang Tanjunganom in the academic year of 2018/2019, (3) To know there are differences achievement the students’ competency scores before and after using Small Group Discussion at the second grade students of MA Darussalam KrempyangTanjunganom in the academic year of 2018 / 2019. The research is experimental with quasi experimental. The research was done in MA Darussalam KrempyangTanjunganom in academic years 2018/2019 zby using population whole class XI with the sum 232 students, while the samples is used by the researchers is the class XI IPS 1 by number of class is 33 students. The techniques of sampling is using random sampling. The collecting data uses type of the test. The technique of analysis data used to analyze the data in this research is statistical analysis data t-test. Based on the result of the test, students show the score average pre test 66,96and post test 85,72. The category is good. Based on the result of analysis level significance in db 5% is 32 value table 1.69389 and value t-test is 19.9818. so, can be concluded as follow: ttest>ttableso, H0 is rejected and HA is accepted. So that, “ there is significant difference before and after using Small group Discussion the students competency on conditional sentence of second grade in MA Darussalam KrempyangTanjunganom academic years 2018/2019”
