Abstract

he purpose of this study was to find out whether the application of the focus group discussion method in improving student learning outcomes in Civics subjects for class X IPS 3 SMA Negeri 1 Rejoso in the 2020/2021 school year. The focus group discussion method is expected to improve student learning outcomes. This research is a classroom action research conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Rejoso with a total of 34 students. The results of this study concluded that the application of the focus group discussion method could improve the learning outcomes of students in class X IPS 3 at SMA Negeri 1 Rejoso in Civics. This is evident from the increase in student learning outcomes in the first cycle, the average percentage of completeness is 76.47%, and continues to increase in the second cycle that fulfills the KKM, increasing to an average percentage of completeness of 82.35.
