Abstract
The objectives of the research are (1) To know the achievement of students' accuracy in their pronunciation skills before using the minimal pairs as a technique in teaching and learning process. (2) To know the achievement of students' accuracy in their pronunciation skills after using the minimal pairs as a technique in teaching and learning process. (3) To know the significant effectiveness before and after being taught using the minimal pairs technique to improve the accuracy of students' pronunciation skill in teaching and learning process at SMPN 1 Lengkong in the academic year of 2020/2021. This research is Quasi-Experimental with one group pre-test post-test. The research was done in SMPN 1 Lengkong in the academic year of 2020/2021, by using the population whole class VII with the total 227 students, the sample used by the writer is the class VII-1 that consists of 32 students. The technique of sampling is using purposive sampling. The collecting data in this research by using test. The technique of analysis data used to analyse the data in this research is descriptive statistics, inferential statistics using ttest and N-Gain test. Based on the result of the test, students show the score - average pre-test 41, 25 and post-test 70,156. Based on the results of analysis level significance in db. 5% is 31 value table is 1,696 and value of t-test is 20,424. It can be concluded as follow: ttest > ttable so, Ho is rejected, and Ha is accepted. Besides, the N-Gain test show that 26 students with a score of gain are in the high category with a percentage of 81.25%, there are 6 students in the medium category with a percentage of 18.75%, and there are no student scores in the low category. The average gain score in this class is included in the high category with a result of 1.115. So that, “There is Significant Effectiveness Before and After Being Taught Using Minimal Pair Technique of students’s Accuracy in Pronunciation Skill for Junior High School Students at SMPN 1 Lengkong in the Academic Year 2020/2021.”
