Abstract

The purpose of the research is (1) to find out the students' reading comprehension skill before taught by PQRST method, (2) to find out the students' reading comprehension skill after taught by PQRST method, and (3) to find out the effectiveness of using PQRST method at the eighth grade of MTs Al-Huda Kepuhbener Tanjunganom in the academic year of 2020/2021. This research is Quasi-Experimental with one group pre-test and post- test. The research was done in MTs Al-Huda Kepuhbener Tanjunganom in the academic year of 2020/2021, by using the sample used by the writer is the eightt class that consists of 30 students. The technique of sampling is using purposive sampling. The collecting data in this research by using test. The technique of analysis data used to analyze the data in this research is statistical analysis data t- test. Based on the results of the test, students show the pre-test average score 56,2 and post-test 75. The score category is fair from most of them. Based on the result of analysis level significance by value table is 1,699 and the value of t-test is 14,46. it can be concluded as follow: ttest > ttable so, H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So that there is significant difference between students’ reading comprehension skill before taught using PQRST method and after taught using PQRST method at the eighth grade of MTs Al-Huda Kepuhbener Tanjunganom in the academic year of 2020/2021.
