Abstract
The aims of this study are 1.) To improve students' reading comprehension skills before learning reading comprehension using a communicative approach through songs. 2.) Improving students' reading comprehension skills after teaching reading comprehension using a communicative approach through songs. 3.) To find out the significant difference in students' reading comprehension skills before and after teaching reading comprehension with a communicative approach through songs. This research is an experimental study with the design of The One Group Pre-test and Post-test. The place used in this research is Al-Qodir Kertosono Islamic Middle School in the academic year 202/2021. The research population is class VIII as many as 43 students, while the sample used by researchers is class VIII-B with a total of 21, with sampling using purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique in this study was giving pre-test and post-test to measure students' abilities before and after giving treatment. The data analysis technique used to analyze the data in this study is statistical data analysis t-test. Based on test results. Students showed an average pre-test score of 66 and post- test of 78, based on the results of the analysis, it was known that the significance level was 5% for Df = 40, t-table = 1.684 and t-count = 6, then tcount > ttable, which means H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So "there is a significant difference between before and after learning Teaching Reading Comprehension Using Communicative Approach Through Songs To The Eight Year Students of SMP Islam Al-Qodir Kertosono In Academic Year Of 2020/2021".
